Newfoundland and Labrador is a world leader in ocean sciences and technology. The Innovation Connector will explore local research currently being undertaken in the province in the clean technology and ocean field.

Sustainable and efficient waste and water management is a challenge in a place like Newfoundland and Labrador. We have rural and remote regions, are situated a significant distance from major markets, and have a small dispersed population making economies of scale difficult to achieve. However, our province isn't the only jurisdiction to face these challenges. The solutions we create here in this province can be exported worldwide, representing business opportunity. The Innovation Connector will highlight recent local research aimed at addressing these challenges.

When people hear the words 'clean technology' they often first think of clean energy technologies. While this is just a subset of the sector, it is an exciting one which generates interest from academia, business, and the public alike. This session of the Innovation Connector will explore some of the latest research underway in the province relating to clean energy.

Clean technology is a wide-ranging concept that can apply to many of the industries in Newfoundland and Labrador, and not just those listed above. The Innovation Connector will also provide a platform for other interesting research taking place related to industry in the province.
